[:pl]Kolejne poszukiwania klasyka na życzenie zakończone sukcesem!
Obiektem poszukiwań był Fastback 1967-1968, który miałby w Polsce zostać poddany renowacji. Po obejrzeniu kilku egzemplarzy, podliczenia kosztów i przeanalizowaniu trudności związanych z remontem przeprowadzonym w Polsce zaczęliśmy również rozglądać się za gotowym klasykiem.
Przez kilka miesięcy wertowaliśmy ogłoszenia aż w końcu trafiliśmy na bardzo ciekawego C-code’a z 1967 roku z małego miasteczka w Winsconsin. Na jednym ze zdjęć widoczna była również Corvette z 1961 roku. Podczas rozmowy telefonicznej, okazało się, że właścicielem jest miły starszy Pan, który od rozpoczęcia emerytury spełnia swoje marzenia restaurując klasyki i marzy o rozpoczęciu nowego projekt.
Zasugerował również, że Corvette, którą dopieszcza od 15 lat również będzie na sprzedaż.
Zaraz po rozmowie z właścicielem nasz klient dostał na pocztę link do ogłoszenia, ponieważ Mustang wyglądał interesująco i cena była atrakcyjna, zapadła szybka decyzja o konieczności przeprowadzenia dokładnej inspekcji. Termin ustaliliśmy na najbliższy weekend, zaznaczając że jesteśmy zainteresowani pakietem Corvette+Mustang i ruszyliśmy w drogę.
Na miejscu zastaliśmy mały domek z dużym garażem z widokiem na jezioro. Le Roy (właściciel) zaczął opowiadać nam swoją historię związaną z motoryzacją, pokazując tonę zdjęć z przeprowadzonych renowacji.
Po trwającej dwie godziny inspekcji zadzwoniliśmy do klienta z informacjami na temat samochodów a na skrzynkę wysłaliśmy 300 zdjęć obu samochodów. Podczas gdy klient ogladal zdjecia, my słuchaliśmy historii rekonstrukcji obu klasyków i obejrzeliśmy kolejny projekt, który miał wypełnić garaż po sprzedaży aut. Kilka technicznych pytań od klienta, szybka odpowiedz i przyszedł czas na ustalenie ceny. Ponieważ zainteresowani byliśmy pakietem, mogliśmy pozwolić sobie na stanowcze negocjacje. Nie będziemy wchodzić w szczegóły, ale nasz klient jest zadowolony.
Przejdźmy jednak do konkretów.
Chevrolet Corvette 1961
Rocznik ‘61 jest pierwszym rocznikiem, który miał cztery okrągłe światła z tyłu, które przetrwały w Corvette aż do dzisiaj. Pod maską montowane były tylko silniki V8 o pojemności 283ci. Ten konkretny egzemplarz dysponuje mocą aż…245kM która przy tak niskiej masie (1261 kg) sprawia, że samochód przyspiesza niesamowicie.
Kiedy Le Roy kupił Corvette wymagała ona gruntownego remontu. Był to typowy „barn find”. Samochód stal w garażu od 20 lat i uwaga… zapakowany był nowymi częściami czekającymi tylko żeby je założyć. Było to 15 lat temu. Po zakupie Le Roy zabrał się do pracy i cala renowacje utrwalił dobrymi zdjęciami, których cześć trafiała od razu na ścianę wspomnianego wcześniej garażu. Po zakończeniu prac Le Roy i jego zona zaczęli zabierać Corvette na lokalne zloty, gdzie wygrywała wiele nagród i dostawała mnóstwo komplementów. Wartości kolekcjonerskiej dodaje oryginalny silnik, którego numery sprawdziliśmy w pierwszej kolejności oraz dobra dokumentacja z restoracji.
Ford Mustang Fastback 1967
W 1966 został sprzedany milionowy Mustang a rok później przeprowadzony został generalny lifting. Aktualnie najbardziej rozchwytywanymi modelami są te z lat ‘67 i ‘68. Egzemplarz, który wkrótce trafi do naszego klienta dysponuje silnikiem 289ci o mocy 200km i automatyczną 4-biegową skrzynią (C-code). Le Roy w posiadanie tego samochodu wszedł dwa lata temu, ale znał go bardzo dobrze od dawna, ponieważ samochód większość swojego życia spędził w sąsiedztwie. Prace nad nim skończył tego lata i jak na fachowca/pasjonata przystało doprowadził go świetnego stanu. Historia Mustanga także nie została zapomniana. Zachowany został oryginalny dowód zakupu, książka serwisowa z zapisanymi datami wymian oleju oraz tak zwany „Owner’s manual”. Dla wielu kolekcjonerów bezcenne dokumenty!
Kiedy zabraliśmy się za podpisywanie dokumentów, żona Le Roya (z pochodzenia polka) niemal rozpłakała się opowiadając wspólne wypady na zloty w Wisconsin oraz innych sąsiednich stanach. Nie ma co się dziwić kawał czasu i dużo dobrych wspomnień. Jak sam Le Roy powiedział, przyszedł czas żeby cieszył się nią ktoś inny.
Tak obszerna dokumentacja wraz z oryginalnymi instrukcjami zdecydowanie podnosi wartość klasyka i jest cechą mocno pożądaną wśród doświadczonych kolekcjonerów.
Dla nas jest to informacja, że kupujemy auto z dobrych rąk.

This one was supposed to be a project car 1967-1968 Mustang Fastback that was supposed to be restored in Poland. After looking at couple proposals and summarizing all the costs and difficulties connected with a restoration in Poland we started looking for a incomplete project or a good deal on a finished car.
It took us few months before we found an interesting C-code 1967 Mustang in a small city in Wisconsin. On one of the photos we noticed a really nice 1961 Corvette in the background and didn’t hesitate to ask about it during one of the long conversations. The owner was an older man, who after retirement decided he finally wants to start making his dreams come true – restoring classic cars. He was selling the Mustang, because he was ready for another big project, he has been waiting for for a while. He said he kept and perfected the Corvette for 15 years and his initial intentions were to keep it but now he really wants to start his new project and is considering selling it.
Right after the conversation our client received an e-mail with all the details, numbers, pictures ect. Since the car appeared to be in a very nice condition he a made a quick decision that a good inspection is required mentioning that he would be interested in a package deal Mustang + Corvette.
When we got to that town in Wisconsin, we found a little house with a big garage by the lake. Le Roy, the owner, started sharing the stories of all the cars he restored and showing a lot of pictures.
That was the time when we felt a lot of confidence about the car and its condition. Right after the conversation we called our client with all the details and sent over 300 pictures to his e-mail. While he was checking all the pictures, Le Roy showed us his new project car he wanted to start restoring and shared couple fun car stories. When our client called back, we exchanged few more technical questions and we started the negotiations. All in all everybody was happy with the price, especially our client.
Now, let us give a couple details about the cars:
Chevrolet Corvette 1961
Year 1961 was the first year of rounded tail lights in Corvette’s that lasted till today. The only engines available this year was a 283ci V8. This one was rated 245hp, which combined with a low weight of the car (1261kg) gave a really good performance.
When Le Roy purchased the Corvette 15 years ago, it required a full restoration. It was a typical “Barn find” The car was stored for the last 20 years and was loaded with all the new the parts it needed to become a nice driver. Le Roy took it to the next level and made the car a real beauty. He documented the entire restoration and many of the pictures were currently posted on the walls of his garage. He and his wife enjoyed the car very much and took it to many car shows, where it received multiple awards. The documentation is a very important part of the car’s history and adds value, but we forgot to mention that the first thing we checked was if the engine numbers are matching and they did!

In year 1966 there was already over a million Mustangs sold and the body was ready for a face lift that appeared for the first time in 1967. ’67 –‘68 are the most desirable classic Mustang Fastback models till today. The car that will soon arrive in Poland is a ’67 with a 289ci V8 engine rated at 200hp with an automatic 4-speed transmission. Le Roy purchased the car two years ago, but has known this car very good, as it spend most of its life in the close neighborhood. He even received an original service manual and original bill of sale for it. For many this is a “holy grail” in the classic cars world.
When we started working on the paperwork his wife (Polish origins) almost cried recalling all the great moment they had with the car, but Le Roy said it’s time for somebody else to enjoy it and he will build a new classic for them to enjoy.
A very good documentation from the restoration is a rare thing, but the original paperwork is a cherry on the cake and increases the value of the car as it is very desirable by the collectors. For us it an information that we buy from the right person!

Das Ziel der Suche war ein Fastback 1967-1968, das in Polen renovieren lassen sollte. Wir haben ein paar Autos, Kostenabrechnungen und Schwierigkeiten bei der Renovierung in Polen geprüft und haben wir begonnen, uns nach einem fertigen Mustang umzusehen. Monatelang haben wir Angeboten geschaut und endlich haben wir auf einen sehr interessanten C-code 1967 aus einer kleinen Stadt in Winsconsin getroffen. Auf einem Foto war auch eine Corvette 1961 zu sehen. Während des Gesprächs stellte sich heraus, dass der Besitzer ein netter älterer Mann ist und seit er pensioniert ist, erfüllt er seine Träume. Er restauriert Oldtimer und träumt von dem neuen Projekt. Er legte mir nahe, dass er sich um die Corvette seit 15 Jahre kümmert und die wird auch zu verkaufen.
Gleich nach dem Gespräch mit dem Verkäufer, unsere Kunde bekam ein Link zu diesem Angebot. Da das Angebot und der Preis sehr attraktiv waren, wurde schnelle Entscheidung getroffen, eine genaue Überprüfung durchzuführen. Wir haben einen Termin mit dem Verkäufer für Wochenende ausgemacht und sagten, dass wir Interesse an einem Paket Corvette + Mustang hätten.
Vor Ort trafen wir ein kleines Haus mit einer großen Garage mit dem Seeblick. Le Roy (der Besitzer) begann uns seine Geschichte über die Motorisierung zu erzählen, und zeigte eine Menge Fotos von den durchgeführten Renovierungen.
Nach einer Überprüfung riefen wir den Kunden an, damit ihm die Informationen über das Auto durchgeben und schickten wir ihm 300 Fotos von den beiden Fahrzeugen. Während der Kunde die Fotos schaute, wir hörten die Geschichte der Rekonstruktion die beiden Klassiker und sah wir das nächste Projekt, das nach dem Verkaufen der Autos, sollte die Garage voll ausfüllen. Einige technische Fragen von dem Kunden, schnelle Entscheidung und kam die Zeit um den Preis festzulegen. Da wir an dem Paket interessiert waren, konnten wir mehr verhandeln. Wir werden nicht in die Details gehen, aber unser Kunde ist sehr zufrieden.

Es war eine Typische „barn find“. Das Fahrzeug stand seit 20 Jahre in der Garage und Achtung… das war mit neuen Teilen vollgepackt, wartete nur bis die jemand montiert. Es war vor 15 Jahren. Nach dem Einkauf hat Le Roy mit dem Arbeit angefangen und hat er eine Menge Fotos von der Renovierung gemacht. Ein Teil von den Bildern wurde an die Wände in der Garage gehängt. Nach der Beendung der Arbeit begann Le Roy und seine Frau die Corvette zu lokalen Autoshow zu nehmen, wo sie viele Preise erhalten haben. Der echte Motor und die gute Dokumentation machen das Auto sehr wertvoll. Wir haben die Nummern als erste geprüft.

Le Roy hatte das Auto nur 2 Jahren, aber er hat ihn sehr gut gekannt, weil das Fahrzeug die meiste Zeit in der Nachbarschaft verbracht hat. Arbeiten bei dem Auto hat er in diesem Jahr beendet. Er hat ihn in sehr guten Zustand gebracht. Die Geschichte des Mustangs wurde auch nicht vergessen. Der Besitzer hatte Originalbelegs, einen Scheckheft mit aufgezeichnetem Datum des Ölwechsels und so genannte „Owner’s manual“. Für viele Sammler sind das die unschätzbaren Dokumente!
Als wir mit dem Unterschreiben der Dokumenten angefangen, die Frau von Le Roy (Polin von Herkunft) kamen die Tränen als sie erzielte über gemeinsamen Reisen nach Winsconsin und anderen Nachbarstaaten. Man brauch sich nicht zu wundern, eine lange Zeit und so viele gute Erinnerungen. Le Roy sagte, die Zeit ist gekommen damit jemand anderen das Auto genießen.
So eine umfangreiche Dokumentation, zusammen mit den ursprünglichen Anweisungen erhöht deutlich den Wert des Autos.
