  • typ nadwozia – Fastback
  • rocznik 67-68
  • V8 289 choć 390 też
  • automat
  • kolor czarny, niebieski, ciemny,

Samochód miał super wyposażenie: wspomaganie kierownicy, wspomaganie hamulców, automatyczną skrzynię biegów, prędkościomierz, dolna i górną konsole i wnętrze “Deluxe”.

Wtedy też zaproponowaliśmy go wam w naszym newsletterze (LINK) ale teraz właściciel postanowił go wystawić na E-bay i przyciągnął wielu zainteresowanych. Krzysztof dał nam zielone światło i dopieliśmy deal. Ogarnęliśmy dokumenty i ruszyłem w stronę lotniska.

Wracając do samochodu. Z fabryki powędrował do Richmond gdzie został sprzedany.
Zabierał go też lokalne zloty razem z żoną, która jeździ kabriolet z 1965 roku.

Panie Krzysztofie gratulujemy! Świetny Mustang.[:en]Krzysztof contacted us only three weeks ago. He wrote us an e-mail asking if we could help him find his dream car which was a 67-68 mustang fastback. He specified what’s the most important for him:

  • Body type
  • Year model 67-68
  • V8 289ci or 390ci
  • Automatic transmission
  • Black, blue or other dark color
  • As many options as possible
  • As close to original as possible

He also send us links to a couple cars from our website describing what he liked about them. As we’ve been sending him couple options currently available on the market, his expectations narrowed even more. He decided that power steering and power brakes is a must as well as automatic transmission as mentioned before. The perfect car would have an upper and lower console and a tachometer. Now… This is very specific. Finding this combination would not be easy, but possible. We asked for patience and offered we would keep looking for a car in this configuration and mentioned that a car like that will be a little more expensive, especially if we’re looking for an original one with all those options coming from the factory.

While we’ve been looking for a perfect car, Krzysztof visited a couple of body shops in Poland asking how much it would cost to build a dream car. The mechanics warned Krzysztof about buying a project car in US, as you never know what you will uncover after stripping the car to bare metal. So if he would decide to go this route, if would have to be a really solid car. We found this:

The car had a lot of options: power steering, power brakes, automatic, tachometer, upper and lower console and deluxe interior. Unfortunately it was the wrong color combination and the car wasn’t cheap. After couple conversations with the seller and Krzysztof, the conclusion was that we will keep looking for a little longer. Krzysztof also decided that he would much more prefer a 67 interior over 68 and it should be in black Deluxe option. There is no significant differences in the body, we focused our search on 67.

One day Krzysztof came back and said that he went over all the cars we’ve been sending and he found one that could be an option for him. The car seemed to be very solid, no rust, less than 10,000 miles and very original. The owner claimed that non panel have ever been replaced or fixed. It was repainted in 2007 in original color and the only things that were done to it were added power steering, new radiator, new wheels and tires, and the center console.

When we previously sent that offer to Krzysztof it was on a local ad, but now it went on e-bay and it got a lot of attention. There were 129 people watching it, which is a very significant number on those cars. The race have started. We have contacted the owner, collected more information and listened the story of the car one more time in a greater detail. I will share it at the end of this post. Three days later we were in West Virginia (same day when the auction was going to end) inspecting the car. We took a couple pictures one the most important stuff – VIN number, data plate, buck tag (yes, it still had the buck tag) and sent them to Krzysztof. We went for a test drive and called Krzysztof right after that. It was still 2 hours before the end of the auction. He gave us OK, and we closed the deal. The seller tried to take it off the e-bay, but he could due to e-bay rules forbidding him to close the auction after the minimum reserved price is met and only 2 hours to end of auction. There was no other option. We agreed on the price, and I bought it via e-bay by putting a very high maximum offer. When the auction ended, we had all the paperwork filled out and actually, I was already at the airport coming back home. The auction ended higher than the price we agreed on, which means there was somebody else who was willing to pay more for the car. But since we made the deal before, we’ve secured a very good price on the car! That’s how you buy good cars in a good price!

Coming back to the car.. It was originally sold in Richmond. The first owner was a military, who died on a mission. His parents decided to keep the car in memory of their son. They drove it very occasionally and sold when they were no longer able to drive it. The second owner quickly noticed a very low mileage on the car and wanted to maintain it this way, so he stored it in a garage and was taking out only for weekend cruises. The last owner purchased it around 10 years ago when the odometer was showing 7,000 miles.  Through the time of his ownership he put a new paintjob on the car, added the power steering, and did basic maintenance replacing the air cleaner, valve covers and wheels. The person we bought it from replaced only the gas tank, fuel pump and tail light chromes. He took it to a couple car shows together with his wife, who drove a red 65 convertible. He purchased this car only because he knows the previous owners and was familiar with the history of the car. He restores cars in his free time and when he saw all original sheet metal, the original interior and the mileage, he couldn’t resist.

This will be an excellent base for Krzysztof’s projects, just take a look:

Congratulations Krzysztof!

  • Fahrzeugtyp
  • Herstellungsjahr 67-68
  • V8 289, sondern auch 390
  • Automatikgetriebe
  • Schwarze, blaue, dunkle Farbe
  • Sehr gut ausgestattet
